A house of God, a family of people
Bethel means “house of God.” That's the name we carry and the thing we're trying to be.
Ordinary people, extraordinary Savior
Bethel Christian Church is a congregation of families, singles, students, and seniors who gather each week because we believe Jesus Christ is who He said He is. We aren't impressive. We're forgiven — and that makes all the difference.
There has been a church on Bethel Road since 1885. Generations of this community have been baptized, married, and buried here, and we don't take that lightly. But a 140-year-old church is only as faithful as what it does this Sunday — so we keep showing up.
Our services are warm and unhurried. We sing together, we read the Bible together, and someone opens the Scriptures and explains them plainly. There's no performance, no pressure, and no hidden agenda. Just the good news, offered honestly.
If you're exploring faith for the first time or coming back after a long time away, you will not be singled out. Sit in the back, stay as long as you like, and ask every question you've got.
A place to call home — servants above all.
Two commitments that shape everything we do.
A place to call home
Church shouldn't feel like an event you attend. It should feel like a table you're expected at. We want every person who walks through our doors — lifelong believer, first-time visitor, or someone who left church years ago — to find a seat, a name, and people who notice when they're missing.
Servants above all
Jesus said the greatest among us would be the servant of all, and He meant it plainly. So we measure ourselves less by who shows up on Sunday and more by who gets served Monday through Saturday — in our homes, our neighborhoods, our schools, and wherever God sends us.
Our core convictions
These are the essentials we hold without apology — the historic Christian faith, simply stated.
-
01
The Bible
Scripture is the inspired, trustworthy Word of God and our final authority for faith and practice. We teach it verse by verse and let it set our agenda.
-
02
God
There is one God, eternally existing as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — perfect in holiness, wisdom, power, and love.
-
03
Jesus Christ
Jesus is fully God and fully man. He lived a sinless life, died on the cross in our place, rose bodily from the grave, and is coming again.
-
04
Salvation
We are saved by God's grace through faith in Christ alone — never by our own effort or goodness. It is a gift to be received, not a wage to be earned.
-
05
The Holy Spirit
The Spirit convicts, indwells, gifts, and empowers every believer to live a holy life and serve the body of Christ.
-
06
The Church
The church is the people of God, gathered for worship and scattered for mission. We practice baptism and the Lord's Supper as Christ commanded.
